Outside Panama City

For many people the noise and hustle and bustle of Panama City are just too much. They are looking for a more relaxed life style, away from the life they lived.

The choice is really three fold, beach, golf course or cooler flower garden setting in the Interior areas of Panama. Of course you can sometimes manage to combine a coupole of these and since Panama is small it is possible to live somewhere and still enjoy the other options.

The Pacific side of Panama is the most developed ocean side, and there are beautiful beach resorts that combine beach and golf course, or just live on or near the beach and enjoy that. The islands are terrific and in Las Perlas there is a golf and beach resort being built on one of the islands. This is a big island and you can get there by plane or boat. What a dream come true. Moor your boat so it is handy when you want to go fishing or exploring or return to Panama City and enjoy the many restaurants, do your business and boat home.  Closer than the Perlas islands is Taboga Island. There are a few condo developments here but they are small. Everything focuses around the beach and the gorgeous views of the Bay of Panama back to the city. There are some grand old homes right along the beach so with luck and a little probing you can likely find your dream home.

There are numerous developments happening along the Pacific coast once you get back to the mainland, and there are those not on the coast but where the greenery to be found in the rainforest setting is extremely attractive. Tucan a golf course community perched on the edge of the canal is already open for golf  so be sure to stop in. Close to Panama City but not part of the city can be a very attractive option.

From Tucan, you head west along the Pan American Highway.  Chorrera the first community of any size has a green and vibrant expat community located _____

At Chame the Point of Chame Punta Chame has a marina community being developed, so if you love boats and boating this may be where you want to look.  Bcuase of the huge tide changes along the Pacific it is difficult to create a marina unless you can find or create a protected Bay area.  The Bay of Chame is in fact such a location.

Gorgona is the next beach community where Las Serenas,______ and Malibu are rapidly changing this quiet little community.  Find your beach dream here, and live full or part time in Paradise.  Many people are buying into these developments to have a place in the sun to caim their piece of paradise while the price is right and when they are not here they find it is east to rent their condo to others who also want to enjoy the sun and sand which characterize Panama’s Pacific developments.  Since there are not nearly enough hotel rooms for al the sun seekers who visit Panama, renting your beach condo is easy and lucrative.

Next you reach Coronado where the wealthy of Panama have long had their beach hideaways for the weekend.  There is a golf course here and an equestrian center in addition to the spectacular beach, so take your choice.  Perfect for the retiree or the person seeking a second home.  The Coronado community is well-developed and soon there will even be a complete modern medical clinic here.

In Coronado, here are single family homes along the golf course or near the equestrian center and this is still a gated community although it is so large and diverse it is hard to remember that fact..  If you are interested and wealthy you can even find single family homes along the beach.  I was shocked when I learned that some of the buildings, which I had thought were boutique hotels along the beach, were in fact single family dwellings.  Every family member has their own floor, naturally.

In Coronado there are numerous condo developments and the Beach Club development boasts the largest swimming pool in Panama, and it is right on the beach..  There are small developments within the larger development of Coronado so there is lots of selection here.

Continuing up the beach, although you have to use the PanAmerican you come to El Barco another gated beach community, Vista Mar, where every lot offers a view of the ocean and the spectacular golf course is open although not yet complete. Continuing along the  Panamerican the beach communities are truly beginning to explode.

Royal Decameron Resort at Km 115 on the PanAmerican is probably the most developed golf course community in Panama.  The homes are arranged around a professional 18 hole golf course and every home purchase gives you a golf course membership.  There is a private and spectacular Beach Club and pool reserved for the Home Owners and a private beach area on one of the prettiest beaches in Panama. This development is part of the Royal Decameron Hotel and Resort Development so if you want to rent your home to earn income from it, the hotel will take care of the details

Net door there is Playa Blanca or White Beach, which is a huge Condo development dedicated to the beach lover.  Next door is the Nikki Beach Development rapidly rising from the sands. All three of these Hotel Resort Developments offer the opportunity for the home owner to earn income from their property by renting them back to the respective hotels where the hotels takes care of the renting and the maintenance.

Once you get to Nikki Beach continue along that road to Buena Ventura.  In doing so you pass in front of the beach home of Panama’s President, Martin Torrijos and find yourself entering a private enclave where huge estates are ranged either on the beach or away from it, depending on their taste, but you can tell the wealthy of Panama have chosen to live here.  A Nicholas Golf Course is set to open here in 2011 and the Bristol Hotel on the Beach is set to open sometime in 2009.

From here beach front communities are missing until you get to the Asuero Pensinula where you must drive down into Los Santos or Veraguas to find the next beach front communities.  These communities are very much in start-up phase so expect to see much more in this area..  Finally you will drive into Chiriqui Province where beach front communities and island communities are beginning to be in evidence.
