Land

Raw land is really an attractive investment especially if you buy right. There are still some properties in Panama where the owners are willing to take their money and move on. For Panamanians who bought long ago or who inherited their land paid practically nothing and they are happy to receive a reasonable dollar. Look carefully though. Some of them have stars i their eyes and they figure every expat is wealthy beyond measure. As an investment what you pay is important, so use the help of a real professional who can help you find the well priced properties.

One of the interesting opportunities is non-titled government land. Only a Panamanian can purchase this land but they can do so reasonably. They have to pay for a survey and they have to pay to draw up a plan and register the plan and then request the title, and pay the government. Once they have the title they can sell it immediately. If you can find someone to help you with this process you can find raw untitled land with old growth hardwood trees. After a few years you can cut these trees and make a fortune or you may want to help preserve this beautiful old growth for your children and grandchildren. Once you have owned the land for two years, the choice is yours.
